Be sure to wear new clothes, preferably in red or yellow, and eat good food. It’s the Year of the Dragon (possibly the Black Dragon, too, though I’m not sure what that means), which is the mightiest sign in the Chinese Zodiac and a sign of power. For those of you not too familiar with the Zodiac, the signs are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit/Cat, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig/Boar/Elephant. If you’re interested in the Zodiac, I’m sure that there are many books out there, but it would probably be more fun to read or watch Natsuki Takaya’s Fruits Basket (Furūtsu Basuketto).
